The Hobbit ruled the box office for a third straight weekend, beating out a trio of Christmas Day releases. The Lord of the Rings prequel earned $32.9 million and has now banked $222.7 million.

Django Unchained was second in its first weekend with 10.2 million.

Les Miserables was third with $28 million.

Parental Guidance was fourth with $14.8 million.

Jack Reacher dropped from second to fifth with $14 million.
